Marilyn's Story
I went to college, got married in '62, had 3 sons, worked in advertising and film production in Orlando and Jacksonville.
Got divorced in '74. Still have three great sons though.
Later, Married a man with 3 daughters. He died...but I'm still close to his beautiful daughters.
Moved to Lakeland and worked in broadcasting and arts management.
I got married again in '91 and divorced in '92...took my maiden name back. I decided I'm never going to to that again.... I came into the world as Marilyn Charlotte and I'm going out that way.
I moved to Saratota in'97 and went to work for the Manatee Chamber of Commerce. I published a monthly magazine for them for 5 years and then did some freelance writing and graphic design work for them and Economic Development and for some PBS stations in TN.
I met Frank Grieco in 2002 (my significant-other-person.) He's from NY and talks a lot like Tony Soprano, but he's real nice...Expand for more
. We like to travel, play golf and I play a lot of bridge. Frank has 2 daughters who live here and 3 grand daughters. Two of my sons live in St Pete and 1 lives in Cocoa. I have 5 grand children... 4 boys and a girl.
Son David is a Capt. in the Merchant Marine. Don is in title Insurance and Chris is a radiology tech (nuclear imaging). I uploaded some pictures of them.
I now have an art studio at my home in Sarasota. I am doing mainly watercolors and showing in a coop gallery and in Florida Watercolor society, Florida Suncoast Watercolor society shows. I uploaded a few pictures of my art. I teach drawing and watercolor and acrylic classes for Sarasota county schools Adult Ed program and for Ringling College of Art and Design at Longboat Key Art center
A lot of sadness and joy, defeat and success along the way. All in all, life is good. My kids are GREAT. The Grand kids are THE BEST. My work is still fun.
