Marilyn's Story
I've been living in New York for the past 17 years in a small community about 60 miles north of The Big Apple and about 9 miles north of West Point Military Academy (which worked out great when my sister Maureen's middle son was accepted to West Point after serving active military for 4 years. He graduated 2 years ago and is now on his 2nd tour in Afghanistan with ETA home in July, 2010. My husband Massimo is from Italy. His Mom still lives there and we try to visit as often as we can. I have learned Italian by default since my mother in law does not speak ANY English. I met him in 1975 when he was on vacation visiting relatives in the North End of Boston. ebruary. We have three children, Sarah is 30 Stefanie is 26 and Michael is 21. My sister lives in RI, my brother Bernie lives in VEGAS, my brother Jim lives on the Cape. My dad sadly passed away in 1997 (miss him daily)and my mother is living on the Cape and enjoying her family and friends. I work as a Litigation Paralegal in a small law firm about 20 miles outside of NYC. I enjoy my work and have a great boss. I am still BFF with Gretchen Schmider (O'Halloran) and Lynn Belgard. The three of us took a cruise for our 50th birthdays. Probably the best "girls only" vacation ever. Hope whoever reads this is well and I wish everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous 2010.
