Marilyn's Story
Married in '70. I did graduate in '71 from LaPorte High School. Started family in '74. I have 2 daughters and 1 son. I have 3 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. I have a step daughter, son and grandson. Moved to Louisiana in '83. Divorced in '97. Moved back to Tx. in '98. Left my heart in La. because that's where my kids are. I also left some very dear friends with whom I share alot of spiritual and precious memories. Go back every chance I get. Believe me. Living in the country is so over rated. There are people there whose family trees don't fork. Know what I mean? I found out that I like to hear some traffic go by. Married again in '01. My husband's family is from La. also. A good thing I don't have a gambling problem because the kids all live in Lake Charles, DeRidder and Shreveport. Occas...Expand for more
ionally we gamble or rather make a contribution to the La. road work commision. It is hard to expect much tho with a limit of 20 bucks. I've been called a lot of things, but my fav is Nana. I love Cajun cooking, music, dancing and jokes. I have stayed in touch with my friends from school. Jackie Purtle, Susan and Vicki Morkisch, Debra Stark and I get together when we can. We laugh till we cry about old times and the things in life that we can't do anything about. My motto in life is to laugh as much as I can, even at myself, because there is plenty to cry about. I hope that a memory of me brings a smile or laugh to you. It does to my kids. Their favorite game is remember when Mama....... And I laugh right along with them. I hope to cross paths with some of you. Maybe we will share a laugh.
