Marilyn's Story
After graduation, I attended Biola University and had very fulfilling opportunities to travel in Africa, Asia & Australia during some summers. I earned a secondary school teaching certificate and graduated with a communications major in 1974.
I married Alan Porphir in 1976, had 2 daughters (who both just earned their masters!) and lost Alan to heart disease in 1992 (the day Hurricane Andrew struck Florida).

my life. We now have 2 boxers, 2 cats, and 3 house guests. It's never boring. :)
I've been at the City of Phoenix for 9 years and recently became a Performance Control Specialist in Public Transit. In other words, I see if our transit contractors are fulfilling their contracts (Did they change oil every 3000 miles? Did they answer all customer contacts within a week?). It's been a lot of fun learning a new area. Is anyone riding the bus these days? I'm up for your stories!
