Marilynn Minaker Ferguson:  

I attended Cedarbrook from grade four to grade eight and then entered Cedarbrae. I have an older brother, Ken, who was two years ahead of me. I was involved in Public Speaking, Track and Field, Basketball, Cheerleading, played flute in the band, was on the GAA, helped coach the School gymnastics club and trained and competed in gymnastics. My memories of my years at Cedarbrae are many and precious. I was chosen as student of the year and was fortunate enough to be allowed to visit the Yukon during a Centennial Youth exchange. I travelled with the band to Quebec and the States. Amazing, considering the amount of time Mr.Drewniak scolded me for wasting my time in a gym swinging like a monkey from the bars, instead of practising flute.....grin. I was chosen as Miss Cheerleader for Scarborough on my fifteenth birthday as our mighty senior football team won the Scarborough Championships, defeating R.H. King at Birchmount Stadium.
