Marina's Story
After the boys were grown my husband and I moved to Soap Lake, WA to live the good life in warm (hot) weather in the summer and cold in the winter. We are both involved in volunteering at the local senior center. Who ever said that retirement was dull. We are busy all the time. I am the Activity director and plan fundraisers to help get money to keep our little senior center going. Things are tough for small towns with no other revenue.
Helen and I go each year to the Fobes School reunion picnic and I plan a picnic for the class of "54 each year.

know existed. The language barrier is very hard since I never learned the language. Things are very tough there and we haven't been back since 2000.
Helen and I go to Wenatchee one day a month for a sewing group meeting. I have learned to quilt and have made several.
I also go to Bible Study Fellowship classes in Wenatchee once a week September through May each year and have a couple of ladies that ride along with me. In Nov. 2018 I retired from my 20 years of volunteering at the senior center. Last month I joined the American Legion Auxillery to see if I can volunteer there. Not ready to just sit home.
