Marinda's Story

School biggest crush? well; i liked, and i mean i really really liked, absolutely everyone. every one, yes. still,i suppose some more than others...several in the extreme...a few of those to this day - and - i guess i'm just still too coy to say. Mr. Pritzger (Pritzker?) is the only teacher I remember by name. i been crushin' on him forever. i still recall. i still recall Mr. Pritzker (Pritzger?) as the most meaningful presence in my world when we all heard of the shooting/death of John Lennon. not acting out or sounding off,i remember Mr. Pritzger being there and living on. and living on as any body's much obliged to do in life after all. oh and i still know Mr. G. (Giancoli?[Dean]) by name but then if you ever lived @ The Villa you'd say,"well, who wouldn't?". too,Mr.G. had on me an huge impression. i now appreciate his subtle style for the lesson it is (to me) that took all these years (for me)to unfold. under his remand the example he set in the lifestyle we shared's inspired me ever since. the calm. captivating and as i quieted i was encouraged to more thorough perception(s). and i bow to his superior cool. some righteous femmes too but enough, now. ...let's forget all that and give me the # if...so i can call just... . aw,yeah;memmories. My freshman year i was 13 and i asked my Mother to "send" me somewhere for "school". so we looked around. there were interviews and tours,a psychological evaluation for she and me both seperately and together and then finally one day i look in the phone book. and not the short cut whatever but the bona fide phonebook(used to come to your door);"The Villa Oasis School,John Steinbeck,Jr."and only one state away from Las Vegas. (stipulation:Mom agreed to send me no further than any neighbouring state of Nevada 1st time out) called 'em up and awaited their introductory pkg which came by mail. ah-ha! looking good. right away (we) liked it better than the others available to us (This notion cost my Mother everything she had and could get,in the end she could not afford to send me back for finals after the semester[X-Mas]break so i spent the rest of freshman/high school years taking placement tests, attending summer schools and senior year had early bird and my free period taking remedials [to satisfy less 9th grade credits]but i moved back to L.A. in time to graduate w/my original kindergarden class, started college w/'em the summer after that) and since it was also about the cheapest, papers were signed, tickets were bought and i almost-just almost cried saying goodbye to my Mom. i'd been placed in th...Expand for more
e most popular room/big dorm and right then i got befriended by soon to become the most popular girl of the school. what a ride. but then,i started going to breakfast...caught the blame for some cleppers...almost got beat up in an ambush ousting me from my top knotch to a top bunk in the not most popular room (which i so enjoyed,by the by) and then and then and ^&%#@*~+ then then then sit out a dance sometime later w/the only friend i had left,i leave the room for punch and cookies which i don't bring back. no. i come back. get into one of the closets. insist, demanding that she hide me hide me or else (what?) and God Bless her - i'm giving all my propers up to Kelly Pace - she does. she really does protect me from an (?????[!!!!!!!]???) angry male intruder just learning english,w/her very own person. he walks away saying the only 3 words (2 words/1 word back and forwards) he knew. she didn't ask. couldn't tell her but i knew he came to get me poor old dude 'cause just before then in the living room he kissed me,the bastard (no hard feelings)in front of everyone 'til the music stopped and the lights came on and everybody was quiet and -even from yard outside-looking(!!)went on forever. once it was over i didn't realize right away. then; turning back down the hall i bury myself under some clothes on the closetfloor. nobody ever said a word. nobody ever do. ta. ya'all're w/me still. redo? if not, lose a girl. Workplace well, let's see...besides the odd jobs not bearing mention i did stints at baskin robbins doing ice cream cakes etc. and a company called indo reef handling shipments/re-ox/sales of wild marine life and a preschool called busy bea's where i was a teacher(2yr.olds)but mostly i was a receptionist. the duties i held in the companies i worked at during those years hold the bulk of my experience. for the past nine years or so i've been at home with my Mother and her Parents and i'm a basically a junior house frau. large family, big house, weekly dinners and other group functions...these are the things i'm involved with but the main occupation i have here is attending my Grandmother whose had several strokes. it's a big job. a big job. but it's an even bigger adventure. we're a close family with a great many dear friends and i'm happy with my situation. of course the arrangement can't go on forever and i wanted to be here. by no stretch am i encumbered. i could do more than this if i wanted but it's clear to me that my day of doing more than this approaches so i reckon,"later for that",hey. that's my work bio. :)
