Marion's Story
Life
After working 10 years for Christian Non-profit organizations, traveling to India, Ethiopia, Colombia, Bulgaria, Angola and several European countries and meeting amazing people, I resigned my Development Director position from Minnesota Teen Challenge to stay home with my two gifted children. I teach my 8th grade son and 5th grade daughter at home through the Minnesota Virtual Academy, who now both test several grade levels above their own in Math, Reading and Language. I live in Buffalo, MN where I spend my spare time volunteering at my church where I am the Director of the T &T AWANA Program, a Middle School Youth Leader, A Wright County Jail Minister (I preach and my husband does worship music) and at our local...Expand for more
food shelf I am the Co-Director of the Board, and take care of the finances. My husband and I coach 13-15 year old boys baseball. I have also helped several organizations with their charity golf tournaments. My greatest joy is helping those in need.
I have been married to the same man for 17 years. Together our greatest trial came when our third child, Hannah, died at the age of 18 months in January 2000 from a very rare and fatal brain tumor (BGM). I have since learned that only 10% of marriages survive the death of a child. We have not only survived, but thrived. My family is together because of faith in Jesus. So to those of you from my class who thought that I would be married 7 times - YOU WERE WRONG!
