Marion's Story
Life
Both of us love animals. Since we came to Evansville, IN in late 1975, we have always had pets.
Three dogs ( one at a time) CAMPER, ABE and currently
TRIPPER. The first dog, Camper, we found on a camping trip to a state park. She was abandoned and hadn't eaten for quite some time. So we took her home and she was a wonderful pet. She would stand guard over our two infant grandsons.
ABE was also abandoned in a state park. Since it was just about winter and the park was closing for campers, the ranger told us that if someone didn't take the dog, they would have to shoot him because they couldn't have him running wild throughout the winter. He was a Doberman and was the sweetest animal I have ever had.
TRIPPER is now the head of the household. We got him on his first birthday, so he already had the name. We then found out how he got the name-he is ALWAYS laying or sit...Expand for more
ting in the doorways! He, too, is a wonderful pet.
We currently have 4 cats, we lost one to diabetes last year. They are all spoiled and very loving.
Since pets are proven to help lower blood pressure and stress, I guess we have hit the jack pot. We have no problems in either area!!!
Workplace
After graduation I worked in my folks Nursing home until I was 21. Then I worked for the guy who bought it.
I left CT in 1971 and have been an insurance agent in CA, OH and IN. I am now retired (1996) because of a disability. I am now a homemaker, a grandmother of 9, and a greatgrandmother of 7 with the last boy born 4/08
Military
My husband was Officer- in- charge of the Fresno, CA U.S. Coast Guard recruiting office and signed me up for a 2 year tour in the Reserves. We were the first husband and wife Recruiting team in the Coast Guard. Of course, that was back in 1972!
