Marion's Story
Life
Spent 2 years in the military 66-68. Married Dana Ford in 68, had 2 children. Worked construction, sold life insurance. Divorced in 73. Fell timber in the great Northwest. Moved to Phoenix in 74, built metel plating equipment. Moved to Houston in 75. Married to Dorothy Elsner with her 2 children in 75. We added one more child of our own. Currently have 9 Grandchildren. 32 years of marriage and still going.
Worked for Big Three Industries/Air Liquide America for 25 years, retiring in Nov. of 2000. Worked my way from an employee in one flammable gas producing facility, the Houston Acetylene ...Expand for more
plant, to Manager and Engineer for all of the companies flammable gas facilities nation wide(Acetylene, Hydrogen & LP-Gas). Spent 24 years as company representative on the Compressed Gas Association based in Arlington, VA. Spent 13 years in the Volunteer Fire Service in the rural Houston area, mostly in a training capacity.
Since retiring, we have moved approx 50 miles NW of Houston, bought a home on 2.8 acres on a private lake and started enjoying life.
For the last 17 years we have spent 2 to 4 weeks per year in Cancun Mexico and we will continue a tradition of two weeks per year from now on.
