Marisa's Story
Life
I moved to Italy just after graduating from UT in 1977 and have lived here almost the whole time. I live in Rome, so if anyone (who remembers me) is over here visiting, don't hesitate to give me a call. I give a great "cousin's" tour .... and now I even rent out a room as a B&B, but cannot put the web address on this profile.
A few changes since I wrote this profile.
My mom passed away in March, 2007. Both my parents are buried here in Rome, in a historical cemetery. Shelley and Keats (remember them?) are in the same place .... Really very nice!
Life is good and interesting. I'm still teaching English, as I imagine I always will.
A couple of years ago I met some Tibetan Buddhist monks at the bus stop and we became friends. Because of that day, I now go to a Tibetan Buddh...Expand for more
ist center here in Rome and help Tibetan monks living in India as much as possible.
Will probably start an English school there in Sept. 2008, so if anyone wants an interesting part-time job, let me know!!! :))
My son makes documentaries on the awful things that go on around the world, but don't get on the normal newscasts. Hopefully he'll be able to make a living out of it one day!
I miss dancing to C&W music, and riding horses in the hill country. Oh well, can't have it all in life, can you?!?!
Sept.2008 UPDATE
I'm moving to Dharamsala, India in mid-October. Will train Tibetans to become English teachers. The name of the town where I'll be living is called McLeod Ganj and it's in the foothills of the Himalayas.
