Marisol's Story
Life
I was born and raised in Dallas where I attended Leilia P. Cowart Elementary and L.V. Stockard Junior High
MIDDLE SCHOOL: I only went to Ocala for 8th grade. We moved to San Jose because my parents were divorcingÃÂ
Wow! Going to school in California was VERY different, it was a culture shock. The only thing that comes to mind is Melting PotÃÂ
. Up until now, IÃÂd grown up with solid brick buildings and hallways. Now its something called ÃÂquadsÃÂ and everything is outdoorsÃÂ
and talk about ÃÂlife in the fast laneÃÂ.
HIGH SCHOOL: Ok, by now I seem to have assimilated to the west-coast life-style. During my senior year at Mt. Pleasant, I was a little too rebellious at home. ThatÃÂs why I suddenly disappearedÃÂ
I was sent back to Texas where I attended Nimitz H.S. Oh! My! God! going to high school in Texas was VERY different. IÃÂd never seen so many boots at school before! B...Expand for more
ut I was back in a brick building with hallways! Life seems to be slower hereÃÂ
LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL: Moved back to San Jose, got married in 1984, gave birth to my daughter, Marisa, in 1985. Divorced about 4 ý years later and really wasnÃÂt interested in dating or meeting anyone for awhile.
I finally snapped out of it and met my husband sometime after the big earthquake. We lost touch for a year but bumped into him again. We started dating and 10 years later finally got married, only to split up after 20-something years of being together. Funny how life works sometimes, I guess it wasn't meant to be, it just took me awhile to figure it out...
I now live in Sunnyvale, CA and have two kids, Alexis (13) and Marco (11). IÃÂm a stay-at-home mom and keep VERY busy with school volunteer work and HOME work. IÃÂm busier now than when I had a full-time job!
p.s. I still consider myself a Texan!
