Marjorie's Story
Actually I don't remember many of my classmates because I was so self concience and I wasn't that involved in school. This was probably due to the the fact that I felt I couldn't fit in. That was solely my perception, nobody elses. But that was then. After High School I immediately attended Glendale College not knowing what else to do. I then transferred to Cal State L.A. and majored in Speech Pathology. But I took a quarter break and traveled to Europe for a couple of months. My girlfriend and I traveled to most of the countries in Europe by backpack. When I returned I was a more confident woman and committed my self to have a wonderful future. I returned to marry a wonderful man I had been dating for four years. He was and still is my soul mate. A year later, in 1976 my husband and I both graduated from CSULA. e of it. We also just celebrated 33 years of marriage. Tom is retired after 32 years of a very impressive career with LAPD. Now,Tom holds elected office in our city (we are very involved in politics.) and currently I teach part time. We enjoy doing charity work, too. Life has been good to us and we feel very blessed.
Tom ran for re-election this April 2010 and he won!. He is the mayor of our city. Im so very proud of him. Perhaps a run for Congress? Sure hope so. Our son just graduated with a Masters degree in Computer engineering from USC. He just returned from Naples, Italy and London working on a project there for Boeing. Am I proud? YES! Life is good. Approaching the big 60 in about another year. I have learned to "seize the moment". I have learned that Family, good friends, and health are the ultimate. Being caring and loving to all animals is a must for me, too. Everything else is an embellisment.
