Marjorie's Story

A year after graduation, I traveled to Utah, where I lived with my Grandparents, worked in the great steel plant which was then being built in Provo. While between positions, a transfer upward, I accidentally joined the Air Wacs. Then it was off to Basic Training in Ft. Des Moines, Ia. About the only memorable event there was that I was selected to be the Colonel's Orderly when it came my turn for Guard duty. He had a penchant for little women, and God knows, I didn't grow any, (4' 10 1/2" tall). After basic, I was stationed in Atlantic City, N.J. which is where I met and married my husband, Johnny. se of Representatives, all Sessions and Called Special Sessions from 1951-1965. Meantime I had gotten my Real Estate License as an Agent. I did not renew my license in 1967--but then arose like the Phoenix in 1977. I was the sales manager for the firm and recruited and trained new agents for the next three years. I sat for my Broker's License as soon as was legally possible, 1979, and stayed with tht firm until moving to the Valley in the fall of 1980, where we have remained to date. Life has not been the same since Johnny died, but I stayed here most of the time. I made some of my best sales in recent years, and still practice on a limited basis. They say that old brokers never quit-- they just die away. I may add to this story later; but, for right now. this is a thumbnail sketch and quite enough. I will try to upload a photo later. Would you believe that I really don't quite know how. It was then that we moved to the Rio Grande Valley
