Mark's Story

Life After graduating John A. Rowland High School I went to Mt. Sac. Jr. College for Summer School and started my first semester there before I got disillusioned and joined the Marine Corps in January of 1980. I went to San Diego for basic training and then to Pensacola Florida for my occupational training for the Marines. I went into the field of intelligence gathering. (Sounds like an oxymoron for the military, but it is not.) My primary mission was intercepting unfriendly countries Morse code transmissions. I was assigned to Kaneohe Hawaii Marine Corp Air/Ground combat station. There I was trained in other assignments such as electronic jamming and direction finding techniques. I was sent on one temporary tour of duty to Misawa Japan for six months were I had a great time and met many wonderful people. Other than that short tour of duty over seas I spent most of the rest of my time on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. I soon discovered the Marines was not going to be my life long ambition and when my tour of duty was up I came back home to Rowland Heights...Expand for more
California. Ron Drake's, who was a friend of mine, mom worked at Southern California Trane Service here in the City of Industry. She knew about a job as a warehouse assistant that was going to be part time for the summer. Well, I needed a job and took it. Through hard work and determination I was given the job of warehouse manager. Through the prodding of some of the staff at Trane I took classes at Mt. San Antonio Jr. College on Air conditioning and Refrigeration. Once I completed these courses I was given a job in the service department. I then met my wife Janice. Our first set of identical twin boys were born on July 3, 1988. Our second set of identical twin boys were born on May 26th, 1992. That's right two sets of twins. After about 12 years in service I was then offered a job as a Field Service Supervisor, which is what I am currently doing. I also do a majority of the training for our contractors, owner/ operators, and our field service technicians here. I have always loved what I do here and hope to continue working here for many years to come.
