Mark's Story
I have NO great memories of VVS. The day I graduated was the LAST time I have been in contact with the TORMENTORS I had the misfortune to be around.
Imagine the constant harassment, ridicule & abuse I endured as a young naive GAY kid.
My education was constantly interrupted by classroom shouts of slurs and insults.
What a great environment to encourage learning. All tolerated by a "Inmature, Unlearned fresh out of College teaching staff, who's only learning expert was a " nerd crush" on their earlier teachers. I was sexually abused by "in the closet" Jocks & many sexually frustrated faculty & administrators.
My "Prom Memories" are haunted by parents of "fellow" students calling me ...Expand for more
a "fem".
My Mother, who loved me, would be called " FAT & UGLY" at any event she tried to contribute food ,or Chaparoned.
The WORST was from the arrogant, phony Sherrill kids, who had an almost "Religion" to a Silver smith that ended up screwing its hardest workers... PURE GREED.
So many of them have still played the "Sherrill Game" holding on to a culture so fragile & sad.
If anything, my VVS experience made me resilient & tough. I fitted the weight of VVS scrap and became very successful in Hospitality.
I now face the challenges of Lymphoma Cancer & many health problems.
But please know all of my life surviving skills, enjoying life & accepting diversity HAD NOTHING to do with VVS.
