Hello I am Mark Aragon I was a 86'-87' midterm grad. I went into the U.S. Navy in 1987. I returned home to CO. in 1988. I was injured on the job in 1991 had three major back surgeries by 96' had to learn how to walk again and continued having back problems. In 1997 I talked my doctors into letting me learn how to scuba dive after watching a special on national geographic about people with dissabilities learning how to dive. I was supposed to try this in a confined setting and instead turned my paperwork in for openwater certification. I used diving to help me continue my rehab in a weightlessness setting and continued with my diving passion. By the end of 97' I was a Scuba diving Professional known as a Divemaster. In 2000 I under went two more surgeries on my back and shoulder surgery as well, I was told after these surgeries I might not dive ever again. One thing throughout my injury was I had the chance too meet with Christopher Reeves and his wife Dana while at Craig Hospital in Denver,Colorado. He said something to me that I will never forget "Never let anything or anyone tell you you can't do something". I will never forget what he said to me, and have since continued with diving.
