Mark's Story

After High School 4 years of college (St. Joe's, UD) 5 years of teaching mathematics (poor, but Summer's off), I saw the country by camping, figured out who I wanted to be when I grew up {I think}) Back to UD (BEE, MEE, tons of problem solving and math, loved it) 24 years with Dupont Holography - special group. Small business in a behemoth. Not for the weak of heart, but very satisfying. We built something. Married in '87, three children. Wife is in assisted living, brain injury due to anoxia in 1999. For 17 years, raising three children on my own with help from our small nuclear family. The kids and I are tight. I am a DAD. Scouts, sports, cooking, gardening, camping, problem solving, service .... I hope the apples haven't dropped too far away. Time will tell. Update: Cam - math and sciences, Kath - Physics. found one way to do it. Track & Field. Throwers rule! I meet lots of great people, and connect with past competitors, coaches, and mentors. Penn Relays, Nationals, and the Olympics are on my hit list. Update: Penn Relays, IC4A's, and ECAC in 2010, hammer and discus. I would not change a thing in my life - we would not be who we are today unless we were tested as we have. One of my dreams is to do a Forest Gump. Yes, one option is to sit at a bus stop with a box of chocolates - connect and share. Each of us have lot to share. Each of us need to be sure to listen. Another is to take a long distance run or hike, wear out a few sneakers or hiking boots - introspect. Am I happy?, what makes me happy?, what do I want to do?, "What is the meaning of life as I know it?", what can I do that is meaningful?. How do I grow? Complicated, but fulfilling. Sorry, I don't have a conclusion. Not for awhile.
