Mark's Story

Life These last 25 years have made me a more serious individual than many would have thought possible, yet I maintain my humor and optimism. I have had my ups and downs over time, which has included the very best as well as the deeply challenging. For the most part, it has been a white collar existence, but I still enjoy cranking a wrench on a classic car every now and then. The work place has shown me the board of directors of a foundation, a vice presidency in the financial world as well as ownership in a couple of companies. An example of one of my darker moments, some years back, entailed pushing a diesel rig loaded with lumber for a few months, while life got back on track. Drugs and alcohol never held much appeal in my life and for that I am grateful, but the opportunity to take the risks of operating ones own company can be a great deal more enticing and sometimes brutal. In a nutshell, I have never minded getting my hands dirty, but I have preferred a suit and tie in the work place. I love the outdoors, but prefer a luxury car or a sports car over a daily SUV driver. When all is said and done, My love for God, my Wife, Family, and Friends are all that really matters. Big money and stature can desert you on a moments notice, so I strive now to keep perspective. ted from San Jose State University with a Bachelors in Business Advertising and Marketing and a minor in Sociology back in 1984. I additionally added classes over the years in High Technology dealing with the areas of systems Networks, as well as found myself deeply in on the job research required to gain the upper edge in finance, commercial development and the High Speed Rail Industry. Presently as the world is changing again, my children are grown, and my wife is finishing up schooling for Her Principals credential, I have decided to shed the suit and tie for the most part, after all these years, and train to become an ASE certified master tech. After I went off to college, I never looked back to making cars a big part of my life, as I had in High School. Most would have thought me to have been a grease monkey all these years, but all would have been wrong. Today as I head back toward my old hobby, it is an industry today where one wears surgical gloves on the job, and requires one have a head for computers, electronics and diagnostics. You can have the city, I am done with it. I'd now rather leave it behind. My wife can start her first principals position in a small town, and I can acquire my own shop in time, and forget all the crap that goes on back in the city, that I put up with for far too many years.
