Mark's Story

Life Mark Alexander Brosovich was born in Munson Township, Chardon Ohio (May 3 1967); graduated from Chardon High School (1986); and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1986. Upon completion of Basic Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island (Oct 15 1986), he was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class. After completion of The School of Infantry (Jan. 1, 1987) he was assigned as a Rifleman to 2d Marine Division 3d Battalion 8th Marines, Camp Geiger, North Carolina. During this tour he deployed to CAX 3-87, UDP Okinawa, Japan (870403-871005), Alpine Warrior-88 (880131-880309) and promoted to Lance Corporal (April 1st 1987). In 1988 Lance Corporal Brosovich was selected to become a Small Boat Coxswain for 3rd Battalion 8th Marines Kilo Company. Graduated from Landing Force Command Little Creek, Norfolk V.A. (880523-880715). Returning to 3rd Battalion 8th Marines Kilo Company he worked in Boat Company and deployed to MWTC Bridgeport CA. (880810-880907), Green/Blue Water Porto Rico (881103-881112), LFGF-89 (881231-890629) and promoted to Corporal (890401). Near the end of 1st enlistment he was assigned to Special Operations Training Group as an instructor for the Amphibious Raid Section, II MEF. In 1990 Corporal Brosovich was lateral move to Utilities as an Electronic Equipment Repair Specialist (1142). Corporal Brosovich graduated form Electronic Equipment Repair Specialist Coarse (900720) and was assigned to Communications Company Headquarters and Service Battalion 2nd Marine Division. He deployed to Desert Shield Desert Storm. In 1992 Sergeant Brosovich was reassigned to Marine Corps. ). In 1995 Sergeant Brosovich was reassigned to Marine Wing Communication Squadron 18 (951230-980127). He deployed to Beach Crest-97 (961125-961214) and Tandem Thrust Australia (970213-970328) and was promoted to Staff Sergeant (971001) for his performances during this tour. In 1998 Staff Sergeant Brosovich was reassigned to Marine Corp Systems Command Quantico V.A. (980128-990228). During this tour he served as Assistant Project Manager for Utilities. During this tour Staff Sergeant Brosovich was selected to the Warrant Officer Program (990201). In 1999 Warrant Officer Brosovich graduated from The Basic School (990720). After Graduating Utilities Officer Coarse (990721) Warrant Officer Brosovich was assigned to Marine Air Support Squadron One and served as the Motor Transport and Utilities Officer. He was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer Two (000801). On February 20th, 2003 He deployed to Operation Iraq Freedom (OIF). Serving MASS-1’s Direct Air Support Center attached to Task Force Tarawa’s Main and Forward elements. Returning from OIF on May 20th, 2003 with all personnel and equipment. On January 10th, 2005 CWO3 Brosovich was attached to Headquarters Battalion 2d Marine Division to deploy to OIF III in support of Camp B2 (Camp Blue Diamond) in Iraq for 12 months for the 2d Marine Division CWO3 Brosovich is married to the former Noelle Marie Myers and they reside with their five sons (Alexander, Grant, Nikolaus, Lucas, and Bradley) in the Officer Housing section of Camp Lejeune N.C. His curricular events and hobbies/ interests are soccer, softball, golf, and tactical games. Future goals after forced retirement from the Marine Corps are to become History Teacher/Electrical Engineer.
