Mark's Story
In high school (class of 74) I did the band thing, intramural sports, outdoor stuff, and got pretty good grades. After HS I went to MSU for 5 years and got two BS degrees in Plant and Soil Science. I should have paid more attention to why I was in college and goofed off less. Then I worked for the State of Montana of 30 years as a mine permitting and reclamation specialist. I always said I was working there while waiting for a better job to come along, but that never happened. My wife of 25 years, Heidi, went through breast cancer then chemo-induced leukemia and died in August 2009. Afterward, due to being able to buy a half year of work time, paying off the house, and receiving social security for two of the kids, I quit the state. It's called "retirement," but I am not retired. I have been doing mine permitting consulting full time since quitting the state.

three kids. Whitney (1988) works in downtown Billings and chases after her two kids. Seth (1993) graduated with a mechanical engineering degree from MSU and works in Bozeman, and Morgan (1999) is a senior at West High.
Our Christian faith is paramount and we are blessed to attend a Bible-based church. Pastor Paul is a great teacher and our small group leader, Scott, brings whole picture from Genesis to Revelation alive.
A fun thing heading into our senior years is Christy and I started skiing again. Four of our five kids ski, and we've had a lot of fun with that. Lately, my son, Seth, repaid a favor by purchasing me an archery set-up, so I will be doing that again. We belong to a gym to try to keep from falling apart. We do a lot of groundskeeping work at Clydehurst Christian Ranch on the Boulder River south of Big Timber. And there are the other things of life.
That's enough for the time being. Now I will try to figure out how the rest of this site works.
