Mark's Story

I dropped out of college during my sophomore year (tired of studying) and went to work at a health food store for a few years. Got my real estate license and made a living. Almost got married in the 80s. Did a lot of surfing and music (drums) during that time. Became an uncle in 1992 (very fun). Semi-retired in the late 90s due to an inheritance. Bought a house in Belmont Heights (where I grew up). Did lots of gardening. Met my current girlfriend, an art teacher, in 2001, and we're still together 17 years later. I think we're soul mates, although we squabble...Expand for more
a lot. Started collecting Chinese and African artifacts during the early 2000s, and am curating an exhibit of some of them at UCLA later this year (2018). Starting making art assemblages in 2011 (won some awards), so I now think of myself as an artist (time will tell). Haven't been to any of the reunions (bit of an introvert), but I like knowing how people's lives have turned out. Still friends with Mike Robinson and Donna Day. Thanks to everyone who has written a life recap for the Classmates site. I've really enjoyed reading them! m-dot-clayton-at-att-dot-net
