Mark's Story
Immediately after High School I tried a semester at Grossmont Junior College in the Hospitality Industry studies. It took that one semester to realize that I was fed up with school for a while.
I worked in restaurants for the first year after H.S. and moved out of my folks house. In 1983 I began driving a delivery truck in a territory that included almost all of San Diego county.
In 1985, realizing that I was going nowhere fast, I said goodbye to my friends in San Diego and moved across country to North Carolina. Upon arriving, I enrolled once again in a community college and studied drafting and surveying. That led to a job with an employer I still work for today.

e from 1986 to 1989, then transfered to North Carolina State University. Finally at age 34, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management.
In the mean time, I found time to work full time and get married. I was married for 15 years. She and I are still friendly.
I live in Raleigh, NC and work for an engineering consultant to the electric utility industry. I do land surveying as it relates to the design and construction of electric utilities (transmission lines, substations). I have 6 people that I supervise on a regular basis.
I live in a 2 bdrm townhouse that is more than adequate for just me. I have no kids. Raleigh is a great place to live. It is very green here.
For fun I mountain bike, photograph, cook and entertain.
