Those twists and turns brought me my best friend, my wife, Stephanie. With God and Steph at my side I'll keep hitting 'em as life keeps pitching 'em. Thoreau once said, "People want not something to DO, but something to BE." What I am to BE has been a work in progress over my entire lifetime. sfunctions of the person. I felt limited as a chiropractor when it came to the physical deficiencies of man; chiropractic is efficacious in many ways but it can only accomplish so much. To treat a physical problem effectively the cause of the disorder must be eliminated and not just the easing of symptoms; mental and spiritual disorders must be looked at as possible etiologies for somatic complaints, Jesus proved this many times in His healing miracles. With this in mind, I retired from chiropractic to return to graduate school [at age 50] to pursue a Masters degree in Pastoral Care & Counseling. I chose a seminary setting to obtain this level of education to combine psychology and theology in a effort to better understand human behavior. I've enjoyed my time as a counselor treating the mental aspects of the person and all the ramifications of such but I still felt as if there was more. I have felt drawn into the ministry, a calling [feeling] I've had since I was a young boy. I answered that call and I am currently a Pastor in the United Methodist Church. At this stage of my metamorphysis into BEING instead of just DOING, I feel very much at peace with who I am.".
