Life On November 4, 2008, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors voted on, was passed and Appointed me as a "Housing Commissioner" on the Alameda County Housing Commission for a 4 year term! I have taken my Oath of Office and have been sworn in as Housing Commissioner. It is a great honor to serve the Country of Alameda as the First "Landlord" to be a Housing Commissioner. The Housing Authority of the County of Alameda was created on August 15, 1968. Its principal programs and its funding are through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Housing Authority provides rental assistance to over 7, 000 low income households through its Section 8 and Affordable Housing programs. The Housing Authority provides this assistance without regard to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or disability status.
