Mark's Story

Since leaving Elwood, I picked up a degree in physics from U. of Chicago and then advanced degrees in physical oceanography and atmospheric physics from MIT. My expertise is in tropical cyclone (hurricane) dynamics, climate change, and science policy. I'm now semi-retired, but my last last regular job was running science-policy studies for the National Research Council. I spend my time mana...Expand for more
ging real estate, running a student competition for musical composition, and officiating rugby football. For the rugby world, I'm also a high-level trainer of referees. My companion, Bill, and I reside in Washington, DC. Bill works as a physician. We share our house with golden retriever Cedar and hyacinth macaw Lan-Bao. Plans are in the works for us to build a house and move to San Diego.
