Mark's Story
Life
Graduated from CHS and joined the Air Force. First duty assignment after Crypto tech school was Torrejon Air Base outside of Madrid. Had a great time in a great country.
Married a senorita and stayed in Spain until 1979.
Was transfered to Tinker AFB in OKC. What a let down! Got out of AF and lived in Dallas for about a year. Had my first daughter in 1980.
Moved back to Lubbock and got a job as a civilian flight simulator technician at Reese for 8 yrs.
Divorced and moved to Austin in '89 to work for Motorola.
Became a weekend warrior in the Texas Army National Guard as a UH-60 (Black hawk) helicopter crew chief.
Got out of the Guard in '91 and was called ba...Expand for more
ck up a few weeks later for active duty in Desert Storm.
Returned to Motorola after war where I met my wife .
Transfered with Motorola to DFW in '95.
Was down sized after 10 1/2 yrs.
Went to work for Texas Instruments in Dallas as an equipment engineer for a couple of years. Lot's of expatriate Lubbockites there!
Presently a design engineer for a major helicopter manufacturer in DFW.
In addition to my oldest daughter, I have three more beautiful children (a boy 11, and two daughters, age 9 and 6). Little ones keep you young!
I also have two precious granddaughters and a great son-in-law.
