Mark's Story

Life Well, I pretty much disappearred after 1975, after I spent some time down in Cardiff, did a brief stint at San Diego State and then the day after my birthday party in 75, it was off to Idaho. I traveled around living in a school bus and a tipi being a hippie but eventually had too many little kids tagging along to keep it going as a traveling show. i built a log house and settled onto a piece of land just outside a little town of 35 souls called Santa Idaho. I was a logger, tree planter, surveyor, farmer and finally the owner of a screenprinting, tye-dye and sign painting shop in St. Maries Idaho. raised my tribe of 5 kids, coached little league, wrestling and girls softball. I really had a great time, got divorced, got confused and moved to Phoenix, Az. Whoops, sure is hot here. Went through another messy relationship there but I am healthy and healed from that (well almost) and on to new and wonderful things. I have been working in civil engineering for the last 10 years. It pays the bills, but it's till just like work. Moved to fallbrook to be with Margie, surf, be a farmer again and yes, still work in civil engineering. Life has taken an unexpected and wonderful turn, "just show's you don't ever know, so watch each card you play and p...Expand for more
lay it slow" 10 points to the deadhead that names that song... I collect and drive old vw's, concert posters and all the great old subversive books I've made teenagers read for over 25 years now. I love my 61 vw bus and my Rick Griffin posters. No harley's yet, my daughter Alicia says I can't have one as long as I still live in a crowded city. Maybe in fallbrook, but it will have to be an old one. We have all sorts of tropical plants on our land including 18 macadamia nut trees. It was driving me crazy to see so much great healthy food piling up so Margie and I started to handle it like a business. We are now harvesting, managing and marketing over 1200 trees worth of macadamias. That along with avocados, potatoes, tomatoes, chilies and eggs keeps us busy marketing on the internet and farmers markets. I am still pounding it out in engineering but hope to cut back the hours and devote more time to the "farm" and surfing of course. Check us out mnmsnuthousedotcom or macnutmanatyahoodotcom What a shameless and overt promotional ad, MnM is Mark and Margie of course and the nuthouse is an indictment of the lives we have led and continue to lead. Gordie said that people don't really change much after high school and our case he is certainly right.
