Mark's Story
I left school a little early and joined the Marines, and actually finished my HS credits on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. I served 3 years, traveled extensively. Spent time in Italy, France, Germany, Greece, Spain, Portugual, Africa. Learning a lot about myself and life along the way. Came home and didn't really know what I wanted to do. Eventually, I went back to school for 4 years, then I started my career in the acoustical field. It has been very rewarding for me. I have made a great living and have actually enjoyed what I was doing. Along the way I met and married my wife and we had 2 boys, both of whom are grown ups now. I must say that I am quite proud of them both. I coached both my boys through all the years of little league baseball and basketball. What a blast! I miss those years a lot. I am a wine lover and collector. I have been to see a lot of rock concerts(fun times!) I am an avid movie ...Expand for more
fan. I love the Vikings football team ( I think I have purple blood in my veins) I have been known to drink a cocktail or beer occasionally, in moderation of course. I am quite different from my teenage days. I quit smoking cigarettes on a bet from a Marine buddy in 1978 and have NEVER touched one since. We swore to each other to pay $100 bucks to the one who smoked first. It worked because I didn't have the money at that time to give him if he saw me smoking! One habit I was really glad to have given up. I look forward to retiring one day in a warm climate, as I can't stand Minnesota winters anymore. I will probably keep the cabin on the lake for the great summers, though. I hope all the people I encountered in my journey through life are doing well and wish them all happiness and prosperity. I would love hearing from old friends and classmates. Drop me a line sometime, it would be great to catch up and reminisce.
