Mark's Story
After MVHS I bombed a year at RCC and then decided if I want to finish college Sunnymead was not the place. I moved to Northern California to attend College of Marin and to be closer to some old friends, the Duree brothers.
After several years at College of Marin the DRAFT was catching up to me so I return to Sunnymead in 1969 only to be drafted in Sept 1969.
My Army career was short lived as I was sent to Vietnam for 13 months from Mar. 1970 to Mar. 1971 with the 1st Cavalry Division. I didn't get wounded or ill over there.
I then returned to Sunnymead and went to San Bernardino State and finished in 1973. Not bad, I start college in 1966 and finish in 1973.
I worked for a lumber company for about 5 five years then decided to return to NORCAL for the fresh air and ...Expand for more
trees and green hills.
In 1980 I was hired by Union Oil Company and worked as an operator in an oil refinery for 26 years on rotating shifts. First days then nights, repeat.
I retired in 2007 and still live in NORCAL and taking trips. One of which was going through the Grand Canyon on a rafting trip of seven days. A trip for the young.
I never married nor had any kids
Recently my brother and I have been on several road trips in California and nearby states and I intend to do more of that.
Still healthy and breathing and I want it to stay that way.
So a few years we added on to the house to create a 50s era masterbedroom. We added a pocket door to the hall bathrooms we all enjoyed in our youth. This house was built in 1958.. The house in Warner Ranch was newer!
