Mark's Story
Life
What can I say after all these years . Lived in North Quincy for 18 years , Great Family , Great Friends, Great Memories!. Once a Raider always a Raider . I will never duplicate the love and passion for those years . Great football coaches , Mr. Philips 7th grade , Jack Oliver 8th. Dick (Lombardi) Meyer , Ted (The Dean) Sadowski , Mr(Zic It Zac It) Bowes , Ken (Wildman)McPhee and of course a real mentor Ralph Frazier . I can't thank them enough . Four years at Central Conn , 4 more years of football . Do we sense a theme here . Not the great memories of home but I did learn a lot if only by my mistakes . Raised in a Catholic home but strayed those four years of higher learning. My Best college buddies Nic D , Jack W, Mark P, Pat B, Diz & Gail from NY . Graduated in 77 and I was off to La La Land (West Coast and LA). So I thought. God had different plans . My Mother and several friends and a guy from Ahtetes in Action were praying for me during those College years . To cut to the chase , from L.A. thru the South and back to Boston. God used people from all walks of life and Christian Fellowships to give me a nudge . Got home and moved to a job in CT. I met more wonderful people like Patti O & family, who prayed. But it was a Catholic Priest on the radio who really helped me to find some deeper purpose. All he a...Expand for more
sked was , "So what has God put you on this earth for ?" The rest is His Story . Hey, I'm no Saint. I'm still very much "MUL" with "some" of the rough edges smoothed off. But I still approach life like a Linebacker. It would take alot to tell you all the details but I met a wonderful girl from TX at church and married her. Coached football at NQHS but no teaching Jobs , (prop2 1/2). Now we have 32 years of marriage under our belt and four grown children. Driving Truck for the Globe / NY Times. Served as the Men's Ministry Director at Church. Coaching more sports in CYA , Pop Warner football. My four kids have been a blast. Life has had its challenges but thats part of the journey. Playing golf every June/July at the North Quincy Football Alumni Gold Tounament. What a great way to reconnect with old friends. Even though my golf is terrible I'm wouldn't miss that day. Its a little humbling to admit that I have forgotten some names. I've been playing softball for 26 years in a league I helped start on the North Shore. I'm a catcher... nearest thing to a linebacker. You know guard the plate and stop anything that tries to cross it. The best part is I play ball on the same team with my son. That is so cool. So what's up with you ? Hey if you got this far so drop an e-mail. Mul.
Bless you all,
Mark "Mul" Mulvaney
