Mark's Story
Life
I have been happily married for 50 years and have two children and one grandchild.
I retired from the Canadian Government after 33 years as an engineer, financial analyst and policy writer and then spent nine more years working for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police doing policy development work and other similar projects. I finally retired for the third time in 2011.
I don't do retirement very well and to stave off boredom and make use of all of my training in financial planning I spent the first part of my retirement days writing and then electronically publishing on Amazon and Kobo, a handbook on the subject called "2001 Boring things that you should know about your finances"
I have recentlhy published a post-apocolypse novel on Amazon under the pen name Marcus Powers. The book is called "An Oral History of the Pulse".

have taken up the creation of (bad) abstract art (painting and sculpture) but have recently been attempting representational art as well.

Workplace
I spent 42 years working for the Canadian Government in a variety of positions that fluctuated among engineering positions, program management positions and financial /policy analyst positions. Over that time I worked for 3 Departments: Transport Canada; Treasury Board Secretariat and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. As mentioned 33 years were as a regular Public Servant while the remaining years were as a "temporary" civilian employee of the RCMP.
Just to complicate things a bit, I also obtained a minor designation as a business continuity planner.
