Mark's Story
Following a long career with Burroughs/Unisys Corp in Rochester, my division was sold to Standard Register Corp of Dayton, OH in 1987. My wife and I relocated there, living in Centerville until 2004 when we retired and moved to Waxhaw, NC, just south of Charlotte.
We live on several wooded acres out in the country, along with our three cats and many, many wild animals. We love it here, and the change from Rochester winters is wonderful. I'm able to indulge one of my passions, bass fishing, on a year-round basis, trucking my bass boat to the many lakes in the Carolinas.
We have two grown sons, Steve and Chris, living in Connecticut, and t...Expand for more
hree terrific grandchildren, soon to be joined by a fourth in January. That will bring the total to two boys and two girls, a perfect mix.
I do a considerable amount of volunteer work here, keeping me comfortably occupied and out of trouble. We do Meals on Wheels, which is very rewarding, and I am a Rescue Specialist for the Carolina Raptor Center, one of the primary rehabilitation centers in the country. I consider my rescue work to be the best job I've ever had. I love it! See my photo album for a lot more information about my work there....if you can put up with pictures of me as well as my feathered charges.
Thanks for listening,
Mark
