Mark's Story

Life After High School, I went to HVCC for Construction Technology. I knew that wouldn't be sufficient for the future so I enrolled in the Civil Engineering program at Union College. I took a job just after graduating from HVCC and then got married in 1980. We had 3 children (all girls) and I traveled throughout the State for work and went to school at night for 10 years. 1997 and I was divorced a year later. The children are doing very well; all very bright with excellent grades. Most of my career has been managing design and construction of health care and educational facilities. The last couple of years (2001-2003) I took on something very different and challenging. I'm managing the integration of our finance system with our project management system. I'm presently (2003) the President of the American Society of Civil Engineers Mohawk-Hudson Section; representing 1,100 members in Eastern New York.
