Mark's Story
Well, where do I start? First of all, it's good to hear from you again cause I was wondering if we would ever cross paths again. Grad school in Knoxville? You weren't that far from me. Like the pic. FedEx? They are our primary carrier (got to admit we do use UPS but we hate them). I have owned my own business for the past 15 years. Never thought I would stay in one place that long but I have and it's pretty good. Lots of long days, weekends, nights, etc. but worth every minute of it. I guess you can say I've pretty good for myself (like you). Have a beatiful family. 5 children (youngest 19 oldest 27). My boys played baseball and of course I coached them until HS. Two have played college ball with the youngest playing (going to games this weekend). Oldest would have been drafted but ran into wall and messed up his shoulder senior year in college. Two of my boys work for me and the others have at one time or another (part time). Oldest daughter grad from Ga Southern and Masters from Georgia College. Married and teaching Bus Ed in HS. She cheered through college and is the Comp Cheer Coach at HS. Youngest daughter is Junior at GA Southern. She's the brainiac of the family (3.8 GPA). cs and have clients in every state and a few distributors overseas. I bounced around some accounting positons in St. Louis, Chicago, Atlanta and worked for my Dad twice (bad idea). Soooooo now the kids are all out of the house and that is really weird. Met my wife, Konni, at SIU. I was a SigEp and she was an AlphGam. We met a homecoming float building event. We ran into each other at a couple Frat parties. Her roomate was dating one of my frat bros and was trying to hook us up. The day after her 19th birthday, she came walking up with her roomate at one of our flag football games. I will never forget that moment cause I fell in love with her right then. We spent the day together and the rest is history! We got married in 1981 and it was a great wedding. It was more like a frat-sor social with some family there. We moved to St. Louis where I was working for Coopers & Lybrand, then to Chicago (Bell & Howell), then to Atlanta to work for my dad building boats. Have stayed down here cause we love it. Vowed to never move again (cause my family moved every two years and I ended up attending 3 high schools and was not going to do that to my kids). We raised 5 children here and I am very proud of them. Now they are out of the house and it is time to look back and relfect, remember, and enjoy.
