Mark's Story

After high school I had to attend summer school to get my diploma. I went to school with Mark Lamont from Pearce and a couple other guys who didn't get to walk across the stage. We all worked hard and finally got our diplomas in June. I went on to Midwestern State University on a partial scholarship to play football. I was a freshman on the first football team they had had since the 1930's. It was quite an honor. I was asked for my autograph a lot and even got mentioned on radio. I came back home in the Spring of 1990 to pursue a career in hip hop. Never panned out but I did open for Naughty By Nature with a group called Sons of Sol as part of their set I guest dropped as "Profound". In 1998, I signed to Bomb Hip Hop Records out of San Francis...Expand for more
co and released a 12" single The Hulk. It did well on college radio and got good reviews. Never sold a million though! Got into recruiting (head hunting) in 1994 and did that until 2001 when I started writing screenplays and t.v. show pilots. Haven't sold anything yet but I finally have someone interested in shopping my work which is half the battle. I am divorced but headed toward my second marriage. My beutiful future wife Lori, is a teacher in the Mesquite ISD. She has two darling children from previous relationships a daughter, Jennessa who's 12 and a son Jentry, 7. It's ironic but these kids look like mine. They look like me so it's easy for me to forget that I didn't have anything to do with their births. I love them like my own!
