Mark's Story
After graduating, I bobbed and drifted from job to job. Wendys, R.E.Kindel Co., Sight-In-Sound, Pioneer Electronics, Went into business with a friend (crash and burn),Skyline Chili, Gene's Autosound, Then finally REMCO.
I was managing the Gene's Autosound in Florence, KY. One day the owner's son came in, told me they were closing the store and suddenly...I'm unemployed.
I called a very good friend of mine, Darren Rinehart, who managed REMCO and asked him if he needed any help. 16+ years later I'm still there.
REMCO is now Rent-A-Center and I have moved from the store side to the service side, but I still enjoy what I do. I am the lead computer tech and work on about 100 to 150 computers a week.
I am married. My wife, Michelle and I have 6 children between us, and currently live in Batavia, OH. Our oldest, Christopher is now 23, a Seargent in the Marine Corps and lives in Pensicola, FL. Bobby is 22, lives at home and works for a local appliance retailer. Jeremy is 22, lives in Boone Co...Expand for more
unty, KY and works at Kroger. Brittany is 17 and a Senior at Batavia. Amanda is 15 and a Sophomore at Conner H.S. in Boone County. Cory, the youngest, is 12 and is a 7th grader at Batavia.
Michelle has recently completed her degree at UC Clermont and currently works for the US Attorny's office downtown.
I am currently at the end of my 1st elected term on the Batavia Board of Education. This year I will serve as president and I do plan to run for at least 1 more term, possibly more.
Before running for the board, I volunteer coached for Brittany's soccer team for 3 years, Cory's soccer team for 5 years and the Batavia Athletic Boosters president for 3 years.
I've always felt a sence of service to my community. I suppose I get that from my parents. They were involved with our scouting and sports and it rubbed off. I enjoy giving back to my community...I feel I'm making a difference.
Anyone wants to know more? Call me. Michelle says I have "the gift of gab" and will talk to anybody.
