I attended WVU for a year before joining the Army in 1983 to learn to fly helicopters. I did that till 2000 when I began flying airplanes and followed that with small passenger jets in 2005. I very much enjoyed what I did and and was ready to come to work every day and did so with a smile on my face even after so many years. I have been very fortunate to have been able to fly all over the world to include every continent except Australia and Antarctica. Some locations have been memorable for their beauty like South America and Scandanavia while others like Iraq and Afghanistan have been memorable for the desire to never see or return to such places again. I have a wonderful German wife who I met when I flew to her small town for an airshow and she acted as my translator for the weekend. She graciously put up with all the Army had to offer to an Army wife. We have two sons who have both attended German schools but really enjoyed the times they got to return to WV and shoot guns, see wild animals and ride on the ATV's and tractors.
