College Went to Morton Junior College for 2 years and earned an Associates Degree. Did not have the dough to go to a 4 year college right away so I knocked out the BS courses at Morton JC and then went on to U of I at Chicago to get my Accounting Degree. Graduated in 1985. I missed the experience of going away to a 4 year school, but I was able to work at Jewel, save some money and did not have any student loans when I graduated. Took the CPA exam in May 1986 and was one of the lucky ones to pass it the 1st time around. I figured that was the last exam that I would ever have to take. WRONG! Once I realized the the money was not rolling in like I expected, I started my MBA in 1990 and finished it in 1993 earning the degree from DePaul by going to school at night. The goal was to get myself out of the tax area and work my way up the corporate ladder. I was pretty good at my property tax manager job and was saving the company some big money so I got stuck in that job for awhile. I got tired of the work and some of the office politics so I went out on my own in 1999 and have been working the mortgage business ever since.
