Mark's Story
Left for a summer in California day after graduation 1969. returned to P'cola and worked construction for the year. Started USF in Tampa fall of 1970, did the 5 year plan, plus a year of graduate school at UWF. Stayed out and worked a year as Longshoreman on the docks in P'cola. Then went to medical school. Graduated U of Miami '82. Internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital Miami then 2 years at UCLA in Los Angeles for Anesthesia Residency. Have been in Jacksonville since '85 in private practice. 7 years in hospital and the last 18 ...Expand for more
years in surgery center only. Better hours. No call, no nights , no weekends. Past 2 1/2 years I've been on staff of Univ. of Florida as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology. Was married for 13 years, now divorced since 2001. Now with the "Love of My Life" for past 6 years, Linda, M.D., PhD, retired Harvard trained surgeon and her beautiful Akita named Teddy. I have two wonderful sons, Harrison 20 and Hunter 18. They're both better kids than I was and for that I'm grateful and I'm very blessed. Where have all the years gone? Mark
