Mark's Story

I'm living in San Jose and in 2017 retired after a 33-year career as a sports columnist at the San Jose Mercury News, covering the Bay Area pro and college teams, 14 Olympic Games, 32 Super Bowls, plus the occasional golf tournament or yacht race (yes, seriously). timeline of San Francisco 49ers history. I'm proud to say that I have avoided jail time so far. I'm even prouder to say that my wife Barb and I celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2017. Our two kids are grown and the house is fairly empty, so any old friends visiting Northern California are welcome to stop by. Would love to see you.
