Mark's Story

Life Since I graduated from Southside in 1997, I have spent my time aternating between working and going to college. I have majored in several subjects including Architecture, Business, and History. (Looking back I wish I had majored in music education.) Anyway, I could not decide what to do with my life and ended up working at the University of Arkansas for a couple years full-time. I moved back to Fort Smith a couple of years ago to be closer to my family. After moving back, I obtained a job at Arvest Bank. After a year of banking I decided to return to college and finish my undergraduate work. I am currently working for UA Fort Smith and working toward completing two undergraduate degrees at that institution. I should finish my first degree in 2006. I am considering attending graduate school and law school after ...Expand for more
I finish. I enjoy working in an academic environment and would like to build a career at a academic law library or perhaps work for the government. I am active in my church. I help coordinate the worship services at my congregation and have started playing my bass again. These activities take up most of my free time. I anticipate making my life in Fort Smith in the short-term. My family has lived here for nearly 180 years, so I have roots. I may move if I ever get married or go to graduate school. However, I am not dating anyone at the moment and graduate school is a few years away. I am looking forward to seeing many of you again in 2007. With the exception of cutting my hair much shorter, I look pretty much the same as I did in high school. I still have that baby face that gets me carded everywhere I go.
