CLASS OF 1981

Mark's Story

Graduated from Ball State, got married (for 10 years) and moved to Indy, had a daughter, moved to Fort Lauderdale, got divorced, moved to Atlanta (for 10 years), moved to Chicago, bought a bar in Mexico, lost the bar in Mexico, moved to DC and then on to Tennessee. Responsible for Global HR for the past 20 years and travel frequently, which is cool since my better half lives in Guatemala. Spent lots of time in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Managed employees in all the above locations. Fluent in Spanish out of necessity (never took Mrs. Carter's Spanish class - wish I would have!). Probably the majority of my closest friends live in Mexico and Guatem...Expand for more
ala since I have spent significant amounts of my time in those countries. In my spare time I am usually working from home (I do have a life - really, I do!) or swimming in my pool and spoiling my dogs. I run and work out when I can and visit my daughter (whom I call every Sunday) regularly. I have climbed the pyramids of Copan and celebrated the New Year in Guadalajara. I have celebrated the king's birthday in Bangkok and toured the rainforests of Puerto Rico. Although country music is not among my favorites, Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dyin'" is definately a fav. Still have the (sick? odd?) sense of humor I had in high school. Most else has changed.
