Life is a journey, not a destination.God is my pilot and what a ride it's been thus far. Learning and growing, it's amazing how things change, nobody could have convinced me that in 20 years and yes class of "88" it'll be 20years come 2008, that I would see things as I do now. I pray that all is well with each of you and you too see things for what they are, difficult as life may seem, God has given us a manual an instruction book if you will, his words are omnipotent, efficacious and definitely a must have. Be encouraged, Be strong, and never give up, if you do you'll never know how sweet it could have possibly been, so run on!!!
School
If I could do it differently I know I would. I would have been more serious about my grades and would have listened more and talked less. There weren't many teachers that inspired me, most of them thought I was destined for failure, little did they know! I had a wonderful childhood, thank you mama! Highschool wasn't a total waste, I did leave with something, I took my sweetheart with me.
College
NIU- I had lots of fun memories there, had a lot of growing up to do, I enjoyed the freedom of being alone and doin' my own thang. Though I will admit I was not academ...Expand for more
ically prepared at all, I felt inadequate most of time, unfortunately, my highschool classes hadn't groomed me for the culture shock or collegiate environment I was to seize. None-the-less, I dropped out. However, I completed my college education, receving my B.A. in Interior Design. It's all good, it took a lot of courage to return, however, GOD gave me what I needed to go back, now I know it's only as hard as you make it!! If it's something you really want.."Just do It"
Workplace
" A man that does not work, will not eat", True Dat!! But I've also learned that, " A man that loves his work will never work a day in his life"!! Now I can say Amen to that. I've had my share of JOBS! I now have a career, something I love to do, something that I have a passion and a gift for. I encourage you all to do you, do what you love, so what if it pays less? Peace and happiness has no price tag, or does it? You've got to decide which is more important. I gots to have PEACE!!! Have I found it, yes I have, do I embrace it? Sometimes we have peace and don't even realize it's right there, so I think about my blessings and where I use to be, would I go back...HELL NO!! am I at peace? YES!!
