Life
Time sure has flown by --- my children are 32, 30 and 24 I have two grandsons aged 11 and 2 who are the apple of their Granny's eye. I am married to the greatest man in the world and I'm very happy where I am. I moved to Texas in 1982 and I've been sweating out the summers ever since. I have a BS in Advertising and I work for the University of Texas at Austin. I also own a financial services business. I miss a lot of my high school friends and wish I could see them at least once more. Life goes by so fast and here we are, middle-aged already. We're moving over that hill at breakneck speed.
Have I met anyone famous? Yeah, a few people. Willie Nelson a couple times. M.C. Hammer quite a few times - his daughter goes to school here at UT. Marsha Gaye Harden - received a Christmas card from her. Partied with the "new" Lynyrd Skynyrd band about 8 or 10 years ago. Keg parties ain't got nothing on them.
Have I grown up? I think so but I don't always prove it. I also gained a few pounds since graduating. I'm not the 93-pound weakling I was when I left SSHS - see what that cafeteria food does to us kids? I had to move to Texas to get some good chow. Put some bear fat on the ol' bones.
Of what am I the most proud? My children. The oldest is the HR director of an OB/GYN office. Middle daughter has a BSN from UT and works in ICU. The baby is the class clown and voted most spirited and Mr. Congeniality of his class. He recently passed the state health/life license boards and now has his own successful financial services business. He aspires to be something great. They turned out to be good kids in spite of their raisin'. I hear I'm a good mother. I may have started much younger than everyone in the class but I wouldn't change it at this point. I'm finished raising them. I did what I was supposed to and they're all productive citizens. Life is good when you can look back and realize that you did the best you could ...Expand for more

Let me tell you about my oldest Grandson. I enjoyed raising my kids but having a Grandbaby just takes the cake. His personality is so enjoyable. We were at his T-ball game the other evening and GrandDad is motioning for him to lift his arm when he swings the bat. He can't hear us so all you can do is motion. All of a sudden the light goes on and he drops his bat and tries to get his shirt up to do arm farts. He is all boy and that is what he thought GD was telling him to do while he waited to bat. Hey, he has Uncle Will and Cousin J to teach him these things. This is what childhood is like for boys. I enjoy every step. If we could just keep him out of the principal's office, we'd be doing something. That personality is funny at home but they don't know to appreciate it at school.
For all you Gold Members - I'm trying to use up all 4K characters so I can give you your money's worth. I'm a bargain hunter and I try to reciprocate --- you just got your bargain of the week so high-5 your buds and let 'em know.
I'm looking to buy a Texas ranch with lots of acreage and a hunting lodge. I had a contract on a Sharon house but the basement was full of mold - pity the one who buys it. Guess I was wanting to own a piece of old home.
Did you read the part about how I like to read? I read before going to sleep and I listen to audio books on the way to work which is a 30-mile drive. I knock out quite a lot of reading - it is that education addiction, I'm telling ya! Worse than drugs.
I also like to have things orderly but that would be pretty boring to read about so forget I mentioned it. I would love to be a professional organizer but I don't know if I could handle the slobness I see on TV. You know - like a projects episode from C.O.P.S.? Couldn't do it. That is the innate Virgo in me.
