Marlena's Story
My maiden name when I was going to Dilce Combs High School was Marlena Marcum. I was the first five for the Dilce Combs Lady Panthers from 1992 to 1995. Was in Wanda Browns Journalisam class from 1994 to 1995 which was 2 years on the yearbook staff. I loved my time at Dilce Combs and loved all my teachers and friends. After High School I went to college at HCC for two years. Took care of my sister after she had her third child. Meet my soul mate Jimmy Flannery while helping him get ready for a concert at Napier's Gym in 1996. After I meet him we went to Jullian Carroll Airport and run it for a year in 1997. me. Then in 2001 me and Jimmy got engaged on Christmas. Another very happy moment in my life. Then in March 2004 we got married. We had a wonderful marriage. Then one of the worst things that can happen actually happened. I found my wonderful husband passed away in our bed on January 21,2011. This was the worst time of my life. For over a year now I've been in a deep depression. My dad moved in with me in Febuary 2011 and helped me through a lot of things. But unfortunately my dad passed away in March 2012. Another day of pure hell and sorrow. I also woke up after my daddy died. Life is to short to just sit and do nothing. Now I'm in a better place and hope to stay that way for the rest of my life.
