Marlene's Story

As the Oklahoma Wing Administrator for Civil Air Patrol, Lt Col Marlene Webster serves to provide administrative and program support to the Oklahoma Wing Commander, staff, and its members, while maintaining the office of the Wing Headquarters and its records to ensure Wing compliance with government, USAF and headquarters requirements. Lt Col Webster also helps assist over 800 Oklahoma volunteer members in fulfillment of the nonprofit organizations three congressional chartered missions of Emergency Services, Cadet Programs, and Aerospace Education, as well as its steadily increasing role in Americas Homeland Security. Lt Col Webster originally joined the Civil Air Patrol in 2004, and currently is a member of the Flying Castle Squadron. Within her volunteering role, Lt Col Webster has coordinated and assisted with many Wing and Squadron events such as SAREX, FTXs, Wing conferences, and field trips, and has held many different positions. Currently, Marlene also volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). In this role, Marlene represents the interests of children in DHS custody to the courts. She also volunteers as a mediator/speaker with the State of Oklahoma Parent Center. This organization assists Oklahoma school districts and the Department of Special Education, their students, parents and staff with issues and concerns involving Individual Educational Plans (IEP). low-income communities. Marlene has served two terms. During her first term with Yukon Public Schools, Marlene served as the Youth Leadership Coordinator where she grew and managed the school districts SmartStart Volunteer Scholarship Program into one of the largest in Oklahoma with over 200 Scholarship volunteers. As the Citizen Emergency Response Team Coordinator for the Yukon Police Department during her second term, Marlene was responsible for developing the first CERT TEAM and its training program to be used by the Yukon Police Department and its Emergency Response personnel. Marlene received the Presidents Volunteer Service Award for her service in Americorp. As a Wichita, Kansas native, Air Capital of the Nation, and a graduate of Southeast High School, Marlene grew up around aviation. Her weekends consisted of chasing balloons, assisting with glider flight landings and weekend flying in a Cessna 172. Marlene attended Southeastern University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Aviation Management and Safety. Marlene also belonged to the National Honors Society all while working at Civil Air Patrol and raising her family. Marlene currently resides in Seminole Oklahoma. There she lives on her homestead with her daughter Nicole and son-in-law Sean and their three sons Colton, Ryder and Rowdy. Marlene also has two sons. Noah who is married to Makenna and they have a son Asher and daughter Joel. And Leland who is married to Angel and their children Allen, Michael and Sarafina.
