Marlene's Story

I graduated from MSU in 1975 with an Assoc. degree in Houticulture. I then moved to Ypsilanti to work in a flower shop as their head designer for the next 25 years.I first lived on EMU's campus with 6 girls who are still my very dearest friends, THere I met my Husband "Baseball Bob" . Nov 07" maked 30 years of marriage. He keeps saying that he heard that the first 30 years are the hardest! We have 2 super boys, both college grads from MSU and WMU and are successful business men out on their own. I worked in the floral business for 25 years in Ypsilanti. ite the challange, but I do love those special youg people who work so hard at life. I also continue to make fresh wedding flowers for weddings and parties out of my home. I will always love the flower business. In my spare time I'm an independant Sales Rep for Silpada Sterling Silver Jewelry because I love it and I wanted it all..I find great pleasure in making people happy either by helping them in school, planning their special day or by giving away free jewelry. I still love my flower gardening. "Flowers are like friends, you can never have too many. ' I also find time for community service in our church and in our town Serving and helping others will always be important to me..
