Marnie's Story
Hi Fellow Ford Country Day Wildcats! I'd like to reminisce a bit...
Remember our old anthem:
Hey look me over, lend me an ear, a Ford School Wildcat learning through the year!
We're working for knowledge, having lots of fun, I figure whenever you're down and out, the only way is up!
And I'll be up like a wildcat, high in a tree, a Ford School Wildcat, take a tip from me, I'm a little bit short of the elbow room, but let me get me some!
So look out world here I come, I said, look out world here I come!
A few other memories out of the Ford Memory Bank...
Mayfair- grabbags! Madame Rude "sit on your sit-upons", capture the flag, kill the pill, kick the can, red rover, red-light green light, Otis chalking out race pathways : ), field hockey, looking around and finding deer bones out on the hills at recess...climbing trees, swimming at PE, vollleyball at the tennis courts, Max Tearoom! hotdogs and tangy taffy etc! 2nd busses... the plays-Oklahoma, Showboat- songs still get in my head from these! ic, t's were tttt's...Silent Nighttttt, Holy Nightttt. Mr. Warner (God bless him, passed away), Mrs. Ward (God bless her too, here she passed as well). Anyone experience ear-pulling ; ). Mrs. Bambrick, Zamen, Rigby, Crystal, Hall, Muler, Thane, Mr.Kirk, Mr. Menke's garden and science lab (and adjoining "cave" for science movies), folding towels pops in my mind-we use to fold towels after school from swimming and get a coke for it from Mr. Warner (from the antique coke machine.) Going to the restaurant Max's Tea Room for graduation lunches, Paper airplanes out of 2nd story classrooms . Basically getting to live part-time while getting a quality education in a beautiful Tudor Mansion for a part of our childhood with real closets for our coats and fireplaces in our classrooms . Wow, remember the great hall with the beautiful paintings with gold leaf on the ceiling? Ever peek in the attic-creepy...Mrs. Carefoot's office/nurse's office under the stairs. All the kids going up and down the stairs over her head! (...walk!)... 7th and 8th gd parties/ dances. Definately a unique school experience to treasure! Hi to all alumni, I wish you you all well!
