Marsha's Story
Life
We have bought our dream home on 2-1/2 acres in the Brownsboro community, just outside the city limits of Huntsville. It's perfect for us, with lots of wildlife, but still close to town. This is after a mis-adventure of trying to build in a swamp -- I could tell stories!!! My family moved to the Grant area after my sister's graduation, but I remained a "city" girl at heart.
My son, Randy, (the apple of my eye) graduated from Grissom in 1999. He's attending school locally pursuing a Graphics degree. In our spare (ha) time, we run our son's Mini Sprint racing program. We travel around the southeast area nearly every weekend from spring to fall with that.
Randy is getting married in May 2006 at Disney World!!! His fiancee, Laura, went to high school with him, although they dated other people at that time. Three years ago, they met up again, and now I'm going to have a daughter-in-law!!!
My husband of 26 years, Ken, is a Plant Engineer at DaimlerChrysler. He was transferred to Kokomo, Indiana when Chrysler sold the plant here to Seimens. If anyone lives in the Indianapoli...Expand for more
s area and knows of any great jobs for a Program Manager --- I'm looking!!! We also bought a 100-year-old farmhouse up there in the middle of a corn field.
Ken bowls several nights a week and loves tinkering with cars.
For our 25th anniversary, we took a Caribbean cruise and had a wonderful time. We had cruised on our honeymoon, so it was very romantic! So, of course, now we feel like we have to go again every year, but really enjoy doing so.
My outside interests include water aerobics and playing Bunko. I'm Queen Mother Matilda Rose of the Red Hot Mamas chapter of the Red Hat Society. I also enjoy local play productions. And, of course, I still love shopping!!! Since we've bought these older homes, I've started appreciating antiques and often go "junking" with my sister. Unfortunately, I don't know a lot about them, so I just buy what I like, not necessarily what is worth anything.
Workplace
I'm currently the Program Manager for the DSESTS program at DRS Test and Energy Management. DSESTS is the test equipment for "boxes" on the Abrams tank and Bradley Fighting vehicle.
